Koguko matches people through a FIFO queue and does not retain ordinary chat history. Normal conversations are ephemeral; reports and severe safety flags retain only bounded moderation context.

Connection state is explicit
The Bun HTTP/WebSocket server uses typed discriminated-union messages, heartbeat and PONG checks, reconnect handling, and graceful drain behavior.
Moderation and operations
The smaller persistent plane is encrypted and bounded
Persisted moderation context uses AES-GCM encryption, hashed-IP bans, and retention sweeps. The deployment runs on AWS behind Caddy and systemd, with WAL-checkpointed SQLite backups and 231 backend tests.
